On 18 November 2022, a meeting was held at the Confapi headquarters in Terni which ratified the launch of an important project involving over 20 companies in the industrial area (a number which is destined to grow over time), for the creation of the first Renewable Energy Community (CER) in the Terni area. The participating companies, all connected to the Terni Ovest primary substation, will build production plants from renewable sources, for a total of over 1,000 kilowatts, and will share the energy produced in line with the CER model, taking advantage of the incentives provided by the latest regulatory developments of sector. The initiative, born thanks to the commercial collaboration between Confapi Terni, Seci Srl and the Free Luce & Gas Group, foresees that all operational aspects are managed by the “E-CO Network”, a stable aggregate of companies belonging to the Sistematica and Free Luce groups & Gas. In particular, Sistematica will be involved in the supply of the monitoring and control infrastructure and of the management system (ECMS platform, Energy Community Management System, created by Sistematica and Free Software & Tech), while Comunità Energetiche Srl (another company of the group) will take care of the exercise of the CER. It should be noted that the CERs represent a turning point in the new energy models, so much so that all the recent sector studies foresee the creation of tens of thousands of CERs within the next 3 years: the collaboration between Gruppo Sistematica and Gruppo Free aims to become one of the leaders of this emerging sector: the collaboration with Confapi is one of the many commercial promotion tools launched for this purpose by the two groups.
