On November 18, 2022, an important meeting was held at the Confapi headquarters in Terni, marking the launch of a significant project involving over 20 companies from the local industrial area (a number expected to grow over time) to create the first Renewable Energy Community (CER) in the Terni area.
The participating companies, all connected to the Terni Ovest primary substation, will install renewable energy production systems totaling over 1,000 Kilowatts and share the energy produced in line with the CER model, benefiting from the incentives provided by the latest regulatory developments in the sector.
This initiative, born from the commercial collaboration between Confapi Terni, Seci Srl, and the Free Luce & Gas Group, will have all operational aspects managed by the “Rete E-CO,” a stable consortium of companies from the Sistematica and Free Luce & Gas groups. In particular, Sistematica will be involved in providing the monitoring and control infrastructure as well as the management system (ECMS, Energy Community Management System, developed by Sistematica and Free Software & Tech), while Comunità Energetiche Srl (another company in the group) will oversee the operation of the CER.
It is worth noting that CERs represent a turning point in new energy models, with recent industry studies predicting the creation of tens of thousands of CERs within the next three years. The collaboration between the Sistematica Group and the Free Group aims to become one of the leaders in this emerging sector. The partnership with Confapi is one of many commercial promotion initiatives launched by the two groups for this purpose.
