Coblight

What do the Parioli Tennis Club e Via della Conciliazione in Rome, with the Terni Steelworks, the Municipality of Attigliano, the Ilpea Industries, the Aldo Barbetti Cement Factory With the whole Terminillo area? Seemingly nothing, until evening falls, the lights come on and…

That’s right, because the lighting of all the above-mentioned places was carried out by Coblight S.r.l., a group company that deals with the design and implementation of complex systems using COB (“Chip-On-Board” hence the company’s name) technology.

Created in 2015 as an innovative startup, Coblight designs and manufactures energy-efficient products and systems through ultra-high performance lighting fixtures and remote control components.

Among the first companies to take full advantage of technology Chip On Board and to equip its devices with the latest generation of remote control, Coblight has since specialized in systems operating under critical (due to temperature, elevation, fumes and other deteriorating agents).

All of us have replaced some lamps with led products, and many of us have found ourselves having spent a lot of money on a product that failed after a short time. Imagine the same situation but not at home, in which glossing over the money spent the replacement task is easy, imagine it twenty meters high in a factory or inside a road tunnel. Replacement costs far surpass the cost of the failed product.

In fact, the goal was not to create yet another operator offering “normal” lighting fixtures, competing with players that have long been operating in an almost overcrowded market, but to attack a segment, a niche that needs very high-performance products, longer lifespans and lower consumption. All this is expressed in an essential catalog, constantly evolving and always at the forefront of technology, to be offered in specific sectors ( high-performance industrial e public lighting with smart city declination), on which to work to become a partner of choice.

But why can Coblight products and facilities be said to be innovative and better than others?

First of all, the Chip On Board, which provides higher luminous efficiency (up to 15%) and this leads to lower power consumption for the same luminous flux. In addition, the operating temperatures of the luminaires used are lower, and thus the luminaires have a significantly longer life span than other types on the market.

The power supply, a critical element of all systems (especially for reliability and lifespan), has outstanding performance: life expectancy of more than 10 years with little failure even in environments defined as hostile (up to and beyond 65°C ambient temperature, typical of industrial environments such as the steel industry).

Glass lenses (specially designed for use with COB technology), superior to other types on the market, which also allow operation at high temperatures, are resistant to shocks and external agents such as so-called VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), which are among those responsible for performance degradation in the medium/long term of the widespread PMMA plastic commonly used by all other manufacturers.

Remote control, usually optional, heads the technological array in full IOT style (Internet of Things), which through the combination of LoRaWAN infrastructure, Bluetooth LE point-to-point and wide-band WiFi, enables system completion in complex and articulated environments, linking from the field to Sistematica’s controller platforms in full synergy.

These components combined create a paradigm-and products-that are out of the ordinary, with lifespan characteristics of up to ten times and energy performance of up to twice the common market products.

Among major Coblight projects we can mention those at the following clients:

  • ENGIE ITALIA S.p.A.
  • City Green Light Ltd.
  • Ilpea Industries S.p.A.
  • Parioli Tennis Club Rome
  • Aldo Barbetti Cement Works S.p.A.
  • Municipality of Attigliano
  • Acciai Speciali Terni S.p.A.
  • Orvieto Hospital
  • Deer Textile S.p.A.
  • University of Camerino
  • Beaulieu Fibres international Terni S.r.l.
  • Ternana Calcio S.p.A.

as well as the projects along Via della Conciliazione (access road to St. Peter’s Square in Rome) and those – still in progress – related to the energy efficiency of the public lighting service in the municipalities of Alessandria and Prizzi (PA).
